About

Pine Bar Campground sits along the banks of Tincup Creek, about nine miles east of Freedom, Idaho, near the Wyoming border. Located within the Montpelier Ranger District of Caribou-Targhee National Forest at 6,400 feet elevation, the campground offers 6 sites: 5 single-family and 1 double-family unit. A canopy of mixed conifer forest provides partial shade along the creek's edge. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring, with gravel roads and parking spurs throughout. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water or garbage service. Campers should bring their own drinking water and plan to pack out all trash. The creek offers fishing opportunities, while nearby trails invite hiking and exploration through the rolling hills and forests of the Bear River Range. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis from late May through early September at $8 per night. After the primary season ends, the campground remains open for free until snow closes access.
