Pine Bar Campground is nestled along the banks of Tincup Creek in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest's Montpelier Ranger District, approximately nine miles east of Freedom, Idaho, near the Wyoming border. At an elevation of 6,400 feet, the campground sits beneath a canopy of mixed conifer forest that provides partial shade along the creek's edge, where summer grasses sway in the breeze and frame this peaceful retreat in the shadow of the Bear River Range. The campground offers five single-family sites and one double-family site, each equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings. Tincup Creek ripples gently through the landscape, tempting anglers with fishing opportunities, while nearby trails invite hiking and exploration through rolling hills and forests. Its peaceful seclusion makes it an ideal haven for those seeking a simple escape into Idaho's wild beauty. This is a primitive campground operating on a first-come, first-served basis. During the main season (late May through early September), vault toilets are available and the fee is $8 per night. Outside the main season, the campground remains open with no fee, but no toilets or services are provided. Campers must bring their own water year-round and pack out all trash, as no garbage service exists. Roads and parking spurs are gravel, welcoming tents and small trailers to this rustic outpost.

From Alpine, WY, head southwest on US-89 S for 12.8 miles. Turn right at WY-239 W for 1.6 miles. Turn right at County Line Rd/State Line Rd and go 0.9 miles. Turn left at ID-34 W for 9.5 miles and the campground will be on the left.
