About
Crooked Creek Campground serves as the western entrance to Fort Peck Lake, one of Montana's premier water recreation destinations. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Fort Peck Project, this remote campground offers 20 non-electric campsites perched atop a scenic hill with expansive views of the massive reservoir.
The recreation area features a boat ramp with a dock for lake access, a picnic shelter, and a swimming beach. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Potable water is available for filling tanks. The campground is reached via 49-52 miles of maintained all-weather gravel road from Winnett, offering a true remote Montana experience.
Fort Peck Lake, with its coastline longer than California's, provides excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and water sports. The surrounding landscape is part of the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge country, offering wildlife viewing and a peaceful atmosphere away from developed areas.
