About

Crescent Creek Campground is a quiet, primitive Forest Service campground tucked into spruce forest along Crescent Creek in the Chugach National Forest. Located at mile 3 of Quartz Creek Road off the Sterling Highway, this 9-site campground offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking solitude on the Kenai Peninsula. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 28 feet with back-in driveways. The campground provides basic amenities including a vault toilet and fire rings, though potable water is not available. Firewood can be purchased from the camp host during the operating season. All sites are first-come, first-served with a fee of $19 per night collected at the user-fee station on-site. This location is popular among anglers targeting Dolly Varden in Crescent Creek and hikers accessing the Crescent Creek Trail, a 6.2-mile route that climbs gradually through spruce and birch forest to Crescent Lake. The trail offers views of surrounding mountains, though snow can linger on the upper sections into early June.
