About

Crescent Campground is a rustic, no-fee campground located on Crescent Creek approximately 17 miles south of Prairie City in the Malheur National Forest. The site features older facilities but offers direct access to fishing opportunities in Crescent Creek. Wildlife viewing is excellent here, with visitors frequently spotting deer coming to drink at the creek, along with chipmunks, squirrels, and various bird species. The campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the nearby Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. Late spring and early summer bring beautiful wildflower displays to the area. Visitors should be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions and must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. The campground operates first-come, first-served with a 14-day stay limit.

Directions

From Prairie City, turn onto South Main Street and follow to the junction with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street and continue past the cemetery as the road becomes County Road 62. Follow County Road 62 approximately 17 miles; the campground is on the right.
