About

Big Creek Campground occupies a peaceful setting along Big Creek at the edge of Logan Valley in Oregon's Malheur National Forest. At roughly 5,100 feet elevation, the campground serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the surrounding backcountry, including the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. The 15 primitive campsites are dispersed along the creek, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Accessible vault toilets are centrally located, and drinking water is available via hand pump during the warmer months. Campers must pack out all trash as no trash service is provided. There is no cell phone coverage at this location. The surrounding area offers diverse recreation including mountain biking, hiking, stream fishing for trout, hunting, and bird watching. The spring and early summer months reward visitors with exceptional wildflower viewing throughout Logan Valley. Winter brings deep snow that closes vehicle access, though the area remains accessible by snowmobile, ski, or snowshoe.
