The campground sits adjacent to Boulder Creek Horse Camp and the Boulder Creek Trailhead, providing easy access to hiking trails leading into the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Note that horses and stock animals are not permitted at Sam Billings itself, though equestrian facilities are available at the neighboring horse camp. Sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet in length. Camping is limited to 16 consecutive days, with quiet hours observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed.
