Located at Cowan Lake State Park in southwestern Ohio, this established campground offers 254 campsites in a peaceful, wooded lakefront setting. The campground provides electric hookups and is well-suited for families and RV campers seeking a full-amenity camping experience. A camp store on-site offers snacks, ice cream, a grill, and rentals for camping equipment, bikes, and kayaks. The campground features convenient access to a dedicated camper's beach, basketball court, and boat launch ramp. The 700-acre Cowan Lake is known for its scenic inlets, wooded shoreline, and American lotus water lilies. With a 10-horsepower motor limit, the lake is particularly popular with sailors, kayakers, and anglers. Trails wind through mature woodlands, and a nature center operates seasonally within the campground area. Cowan Lake State Park became a state park in 1968 and is known for its variety of birds, including bald eagles, attracting birdwatching enthusiasts year-round. The park also features 27 family cabins, disc golf courses, and is located near Wilmington, Ohio, making it a convenient destination for outdoor recreation in any season.
