About

Corral Creek Campground is a small, primitive Bureau of Land Management campground situated near the North Platte River in Carbon County, Wyoming. The campground features 6 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring or grill, and parking space. A vault toilet serves the area, and a foot trail provides direct access to the river for wade fishing. The surrounding landscape is characterized by juniper, sagebrush, and native grasses, with a riparian area along the river. The North Platte offers excellent fishing and floating opportunities, with rainbow trout and brown trout abundant in the waters. Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with bald eagles, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, wild turkeys, mule deer, mountain lions, and grouse frequently spotted in the area. Rattlesnakes are also present, so visitors should exercise caution. Access requires navigating approximately 12 miles of gravel road (County Road 660) followed by 6 miles on Bennett Peak Road (BLM Road 3404). Pull-through sites are not available, making the campground better suited for smaller rigs and tent camping.

Directions

From I-80, take WY 130 and WY 230 south approximately 38 miles to Riverside. Take WY 230 east for 4 miles, then turn left on County Road 660 for 12 miles on gravel road to Bennett Peak Road (BLM Road 3404). Follow it for 6 miles to the campground.
