Brush Creek Work Center Barrack
Closed for the season. The barracks operates as a winter-only rental, typically available mid-December through March when Highway 130 is closed for winter. Reservations open December 1 each year via Recreation.gov.
About
Originally built in 1981 as temporary employee housing, the Brush Creek Work Center Barrack underwent extensive renovations in 2023 and is now available as a winter rental cabin. The bi-level house sits at 8,100 feet elevation in the Snowy Range, offering direct access to over 300 miles of groomed and ungroomed snowmobile trails plus the Brush Creek Cross-Country Ski Trails that wind through aspen and lodgepole pine stands. The barracks features four bedrooms with twin beds in each, a large kitchen and dining area with refrigerator, stove, microwave, and basic utensils, a small living room with TV, and two full bathrooms with showers and flush toilets. The facility has electricity and heat. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags, pillows, towels, toilet paper, and food. All trash must be packed out. The parking area is plowed regularly, but snow is not shoveled from walkways or doors. Cell phone coverage is fair in the area. This is a non-smoking facility and pets are strictly prohibited.
Directions
