About
Bennett Creek Campground is a remote BLM campground situated along the banks of the North Platte River in Carbon County, Wyoming. At 7,200 feet elevation, the campground provides access to excellent fishing and floating opportunities on the river, which supports abundant populations of both rainbow and brown trout. The 11 campsites are nestled in a diverse riparian landscape featuring cottonwoods, ponderosa pines, Douglas firs, willows, junipers, and mountain mahogany. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring/grill, sandy tent pad, and parking space. The campground has vault toilets and a hand pump well for water, though water systems may be non-operational at times. A boat ramp and day-use parking area provide river access, and bank fishing areas are accessible to persons with disabilities. This is strictly a back-in campground with no pull-through sites available. The surrounding area supports diverse wildlife including bald eagles, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, wild turkeys, mule deer, mountain lions, grouse, and rattlesnakes. The campground is popular with hunters and anglers seeking a primitive camping experience in a scenic setting. Horses are not permitted in the campground.
