About

Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park campground sits within a geological wonder where winds have sculpted Navajo sandstone into vibrant coral-pink sand dunes over millions of years. Located about 20 miles west of Kanab, the campground provides access to the only major dune field on the Colorado Plateau, with roughly 2,000 acres of shifting sands surrounded by red-rock cliffs and ponderosa pine forests. The campground divides into two areas: the south loop (sites 1-22) offers standard dry camping at lower rates, while the north loop (sites 23-34) provides water and electric hookups at each site. Both areas feature modern restrooms with hot showers, drinking water, and dump station access. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with pull-through options available for larger rigs up to 120 feet. Approximately 90% of the dune field is open for OHV riding, making this one of Utah's premier destinations for ATV and UTV enthusiasts. The park also protects habitat for the endemic Coral Pink Sand Dunes tiger beetle, with marked conservation areas where vehicles are prohibited. Summer temperatures can reach the upper 90s to low 100s, with sand temperatures potentially hitting 140°F; visitors should plan accordingly with adequate water and sun protection.
