About
Blue Lake Creek Campground sits in a well-shaded location among maple trees and ferns in the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This small campground offers 11 single sites with open, grassy spaces suitable for both tent and RV camping. A babbling brook runs through the campground, adding to its peaceful forest atmosphere. The campground is particularly popular with off-highway vehicle users due to its direct access to Valley Trail #270, a heavily used motorized trail that connects to a network of over 50 miles of OHV trails. Mountain bikers, hikers, and horseback riders also use this multi-use trail system. For those seeking quieter pursuits, the short High Log Trail #295 is located directly across from the campground and provides foot-traffic-only access to a scenic pool on the Cispus River, just 0.3 miles away. Hikers can also take the Valley Trail to connect with the Blue Lake Trail, which leads on a moderate trek to beautiful Blue Lake with its stunning turquoise waters and excellent fishing opportunities. The campground is managed by a concessionaire and operates from mid-May through mid-September. Sites are typically open and grassy, with vault toilets available but no potable water on-site. Visitors should be aware that trail bikes coming and going can create noise during peak use periods.
