About

Blue Lake Creek Campground sits in a quiet hardwood grove of maples and ferns with open, grassy sites in the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. A small brook flows through the campground, adding to its secluded atmosphere. The 11 back-in sites accommodate tents and smaller RVs up to 20-30 feet. The campground serves as a basecamp for OHV riders, mountain bikers, and hikers. Valley Trail #270 departs directly from camp, connecting to a network of over 50 miles of motorized trails. The High Log Trail #295 across the road is foot-traffic only and descends 0.3 miles to a popular swimming hole on the Cispus River. More ambitious hikers can follow Valley Trail to Blue Lake Trail for a moderate trek to Blue Lake's turquoise waters. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets but no potable water. Campers must bring their own drinking water. Sites include picnic tables and grills. Firewood is available for purchase at the host site for $10 per bundle.

Directions
