About

Clints Well Campground is a rustic Forest Service campground located 55 miles southeast of Flagstaff on Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road), just north of the Clints Well intersection. At an elevation of 6,868 feet, the campsites are nestled in a stand of tall old-growth ponderosa pines set back from the highway. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets and picnic tables at sites, but no potable water is available. Campers must pack out all trash as there is no trash service. Fire rings are provided but may be subject to seasonal fire restrictions. Pets are allowed but must remain leashed; horses and pack animals are prohibited. The campground is open year-round but is not plowed during winter, so access may be limited by snow. A small community at the crossroads provides convenient access to a gas station with a country store and a restaurant. The scenic Mogollon Rim, with its dramatic two-thousand-foot escarpment marking the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau, is a short drive away, as are several forest lakes known for excellent fishing.
