About

Cleve Creek Campground is a Bureau of Land Management site located on the eastern slopes of the Schell Creek Range, approximately 45 miles southeast of Ely. The campground features 12 individual campsites and 1 group site positioned along Cleve Creek, with large cottonwood trees providing shade. Each site includes a picnic table and fire grill. This is a rustic, primitive campground with vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own drinking water. The campground is accessed via 2 miles of dirt road from State Route 893, which is generally passable by 2WD vehicles when driven carefully. Due to the narrow access road and limited site sizes, the campground is not suitable for large trailers. The maximum RV length is approximately 24 feet. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. Hunting and shooting are prohibited within the developed recreation site, and motorized travel is not allowed in nearby Wilderness Areas. The surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring the Schell Creek Range.

Directions

From Ely, drive 26 miles southeast on U.S. Highway 6-50, then turn north on State Route 893 for 12 miles. The campground is accessed via 2 miles of dirt road from SR 893.
