About

Berry Creek Guard Station is situated in the remote Schell Creek Range of eastern Nevada, within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The area is managed by the Ely Ranger District and sits at high elevation surrounded by alpine terrain. The guard station is referenced in USFS materials as a landmark and trailhead access point for the Ranger Trail, which provides entry into the High Schells Wilderness. The surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, fishing, and cross-country skiing. Despite being listed in some databases as a rental facility, this guard station does not appear in current official USFS cabin rental listings or on Recreation.gov. The Ely Ranger District's recreation page lists only campgrounds, not cabin or guard station rentals. Visitors interested in this facility should contact the Ely Ranger District directly at (775) 289-3031 for current availability information.
