About

Clarksburg State Park encompasses 368 acres of northern hardwood forest surrounding scenic Mausert's Pond in the Berkshire Mountains near the Vermont border. The campground offers 46 wooded, well-spaced sites along the pond's edge, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and food storage locker. Four yurts provide an alternative camping experience, with two units (Y1 and Y3) being fully ADA accessible. The campground features a central restroom building with flush toilets and hot showers, plus water spigots throughout. Sites accommodate tents, pop-up trailers, and small RVs, though there are no hookups or dump station. The maximum vehicle length is approximately 16-22 feet, making this campground unsuitable for large RVs. Beyond camping, visitors can swim at the pond beach, hike the Pond Loop Trail, fish, and picnic under tall pines. The park's location near North Adams provides access to MASS MoCA and the Appalachian Trail. Firewood must be purchased on-site as Massachusetts prohibits transporting firewood into state parks.

Directions

From Route 2, head west to North Adams and the intersection with Route 8 North. Follow Route 8 North to Middle Road on the left. The park entrance is at 1199 Middle Road, Clarksburg, MA 01247.
