Cinnamon Bay Beach and Campground offers a unique opportunity to camp within Virgin Islands National Park on St. John's stunning North Shore. Situated on the island's longest beach approximately 4 miles from Cruz Bay along Route 20, the campground provides a range of accommodations from bare tent sites to comfortable cottages. Bare sites include wood platforms with rain covers, picnic tables, and charcoal grills. Eco-tents feature queen beds, fans, lights, electric outlets, linens, and cooking kits. Family eco-tents add twin bunks for additional sleeping capacity. Cottages are concrete structures with screened windows, ceiling fans, queen beds with day beds, mini fridges, and separate rooms. The campground operates as a National Park concessionaire and provides seasonal amenities including flush toilets, cold showers, potable water, food storage lockers, and laundry facilities. The on-site Rain Tree Cafe serves breakfast and dinner daily, while a food truck offers lunch, cold beverages, and ice cream. Water sports rentals are available for snorkel gear, paddleboards, kayaks, and beach chairs. Additional activities include art classes, yoga, water sport lessons, and guided hikes. The facility offers ADA accessible units in eco-tents and cottages, along with accessible parking, bathrooms, and restaurant access. Cinnamon Bay Beach remains open to the public for day use.
Directions
Cinnamon Bay Beach and Campground is located on St. John's North Shore Road (Route 20) about 4 miles outside of Cruz Bay. From St. Thomas, take a taxi from Cyril E. King Airport to Red Hook ferry terminal, then ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. From Cruz Bay, travel north on Route 20 until you see signs for Cinnamon Bay on the left.
