Closed — Closed for the season. The campground operates from late May through late September. Park attendant on duty 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. during season. Entrance gate locked 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. with exit available.

About

Chisholm Trail Ridge Park lies along the scenic shore of Waurika Lake in the Great Plains Region of southern Oklahoma. Named after the historic Chisholm Trail used to transport cattle from Texas to Kansas railroads in the late 1800s, this Army Corps of Engineers campground features 95 sites with electric and water hookups. The campground provides excellent lake access for boating, fishing, and water skiing. Waurika Lake encompasses 10,100 acres of water, offering anglers opportunities to catch channel and flathead catfish, largemouth bass, white bass, hybrid striper, crappie, walleye, and sunfish. The lake features four large embayments and numerous coves ideal for boating. Families enjoy the playground, swimming areas, and open spaces with large shade trees. An accessible boat ramp and dock make launching convenient. The surrounding landscape includes grassland prairies, farms, and forests, with abundant wildlife such as white-tailed deer, ducks, rabbits, and wild turkey. Approximately 6,040 acres around the lake are managed for game, attracting hunters seeking deer, quail, dove, waterfowl, and turkey. The campground is located about six miles northwest of Waurika, where additional services and supplies are available.

Directions

From Waurika, Oklahoma, take Highway 5 northwest for 5 miles. Turn right onto Advent Road and proceed 3 miles. Turn left on Chisholm Trail Road and drive one mile to the park entrance.
