Natural Tunnel State Park Cabins And Lodge

Open — Cabins, lodge, and yurts are available year-round for reservations. Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day, cabins and the lodge require a 6-night minimum stay. Outside of prime season, a 2-night minimum stay is required. The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk.

Natural Tunnel State Park offers a variety of overnight accommodations in the scenic mountains of southwestern Virginia. The park features 14 fully furnished cabins, including ten 2-bedroom cabins that sleep up to 6, two 3-bedroom cabins that sleep up to 8, and one 6-bedroom lodge that accommodates up to 16 guests. All cabins are situated on a mountain ridge offering beautiful mountain views and direct access to the park's hiking trails. Each cabin includes a full kitchen with modern appliances, gas log fireplace, wrap-around deck with rocking chairs, air conditioning and heating, and picnic table and campfire grill in the yard. The queen and twin beds feature Tempur-Pedic mattresses. Two cabins and the lodge are ADA-accessible. Guests must bring their own linens, towels, and kitchen supplies. The park also offers 4 recreational yurts near the campground, each with large wooden decks and outdoor amenities, available from March through November. The Cove Ridge Center provides group lodging for up to 48 guests with conference facilities, an auditorium, and environmental education resources. Natural Tunnel State Park is home to the historic Natural Tunnel, an 850-foot-long natural formation called the Eighth Wonder of the World, with a chairlift providing access to the tunnel floor, miles of hiking trails, and various interpretive programs.

Directions

Located in Scott County, about 13 miles north of Gate City. From I-81, take U.S. 23 North to Gate City. The turn-off to the park is at mile marker 17.4 on Route 23. Take Natural Tunnel Parkway about one mile east to the park entrance.
