About
Cape Disappointment State Park occupies 1,882 acres on the southwestern tip of Washington State where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. This historic park, part of the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, is one of Washington's most visited state parks. The campground offers diverse lodging options including 137 standard campsites, 50 full hookup sites for RVs up to 45 feet, 18 partial hookup sites with water and electricity, five primitive hike/bike sites, yurts, and cabins. The park features eight restrooms and 14 showers. The park's attractions include two historic lighthouses, Cape Disappointment Lighthouse (built 1856) and North Head Lighthouse, both accessible via scenic trails. The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center provides historical context for the area's significance in American exploration. Seven miles of trails wind through the park, with beaches at Waikiki Beach, North Jetty, and Beard's Hollow offering dramatic coastal scenery. The park also features a boat launch and opportunities for wildlife viewing in restored wetland habitats.
