About

Canyon Creek Campground is a lightly-used primitive campground nestled in dense, shady forest along Canyon Creek within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Located in Skamania County, Washington, the campground is accessed via Forest Road 54, which serves the broader Siouxon Creek recreation area known for its waterfalls and old-growth forest hiking. The campground consists of approximately 7-9 small sites arranged in a circular loop with tight turns, making it best suited for tent camping and smaller RVs up to about 22 feet. Those with trailers should scout the loop before attempting entry. The entrance can be easy to miss, contributing to the site's secluded character. The campground is currently closed with no water or restroom facilities available. When operational, it has historically been a free, first-come first-served primitive camping option. The nearby Siouxon Trail #130 provides access to scenic waterfalls and creek hiking.

Directions

From Amboy, Washington, head north on NE Healy Road, which becomes NE Chelatchie Road and then FR 54 (Canyon Creek Road). Continue on FR 54 for approximately 12 miles. The campground entrance is on the left and can be easy to miss.
