About
Camp Creek Campground sits along the South Fork of the Salmon River Road in the rugged backcountry of Payette National Forest. This small, primitive campground offers just 4 sites and serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding trail network. The Camp Creek Trailhead is located on-site, providing access to Phoebe Meadow Trail #291 leading to Phoebe Meadows. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. A hitching rack is available. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply or treat water from nearby sources. The campground operates on a pack in/pack out basis with no trash service. The area provides excellent opportunities for hiking, fishing in the South Fork of the Salmon River, and exploring the remote backcountry. The campground is located near the Reed Ranch airstrip, approximately twelve miles south of the confluence of the East Fork of the South Fork of the Salmon.
