About
Kennally Creek Campground is a secluded destination nestled in mature forest along the banks of Kennally Creek at 5,586 feet elevation in the Payette National Forest. The campground offers 11 sites available on a first-come first-served basis, with payment via cash, check, or the Recreation.gov Scan and Pay app. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets are provided, and potable water from a hand pump is typically available from June through September. The campground serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the surrounding backcountry. Three trails depart directly from camp: North Fork Kennally Creek Trail #102, East Fork Kennally Creek Trail #099, and Needles Summit Trail #101, all suitable for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. A stock loading ramp and hitching rails are available outside the campground entrance, though horses and pack animals are not permitted at individual campsites. Access requires traveling 10 miles south of McCall on Highway 55, then 19 miles east on Paddy Flat Road (Forest Road 388), which turns to gravel and can be narrow and bumpy. Campers must pack out all trash. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.
Directions
Travel 10 miles south of McCall on Highway 55 and turn left (east) on Paddy Flat Road. Follow Paddy Flat Road/Forest Road 388 for 19 miles to the campground. The road turns to gravel and is narrow and bumpy in places.
