Bumpus Mills campground sits among the wooded rolling hills along Lake Barkley's upstream section in Stewart County, Tennessee. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this compact campground offers 15 sites with water and electric hookups ranging from 30 to 50 amps. Facilities include hot showers, a dump station, boat ramp, and access to a nearby public marina. The location is ideal for fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the excellent birding opportunities, with golden and bald eagles frequently spotted, especially during winter months. The surrounding forest supports healthy populations of white-tailed deer and wild turkey. Lake Barkley lies parallel to Kentucky Lake, with the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area situated between them. Fort Donelson National Battlefield, marking the site of the first Union victory of the Civil War, is a short drive east. The Bear Creek Waterfowl Management Unit lies just south of the campground.

Directions

From Nashville: Take I-24 west to Clarksville, then Highway 79 South for 20 miles to Highway 120. Follow Highway 120 for 10 miles to Bumpus Mills, turn left onto Tobaccoport Road (Hwy 1830) for 2.8 miles, turn left onto Oak Hill Road for 0.9 miles, turn left onto Forest Trail then right into the campground.
