About

Piney Campground is one of the largest and most well-equipped campgrounds in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, located on the scenic shores of Kentucky Lake in Stewart County, Tennessee. The campground offers 384 well-defined sites spread across lakefront and wooded settings, providing options for every type of camper. Site types include 57 primitive sites ($16/night), 283 sites with 30-amp electric hookups ($26/night), 44 sites with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer ($40-42/night depending on amperage), and 19 primitive cabins that sleep 4-8 people ($50-75/night). Most sites can accommodate large motorhomes and campers. The campground features extensive recreational facilities including a swimming beach area, archery range, softball field, bike trails, hiking trails, two boat ramps, and a fishing pier. A campfire theater hosts programs, and during the summer season, weekend recreation programs are offered for all ages. The Piney Outpost, open during the camping season, provides campers with food and drinks, ice, firewood, camping supplies, and other essentials. Modern restroom facilities with flush toilets and showers are available throughout the campground. Located along the Woodlands Scenic Trace in the southern portion of LBL, Piney Campground provides easy access to Kentucky Lake's excellent fishing and boating opportunities, as well as the many trails and attractions throughout Land Between the Lakes. Reservations are required and can be made between 2 days and 6 months in advance through the LBL reservation system or by calling. Check-in time is 4:30 p.m. (or anytime if the site is vacant), and check-out is 3:30 p.m.

Directions

Located in the southern portion of Land Between the Lakes along Woodlands Scenic Trace (Forest Road 100), just north of US Highway 79. Follow signs along the Trace to the campground entrance at 621 Fort Henry Road, Dover, TN.
