Dyers Creek Recreation Area sits on the sparkling shores of Lake Barkley in the wooded rolling hills of Stewart County, Tennessee. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this lakeside facility provides an ideal setting for family picnics, group gatherings, and water-based recreation. The park features two group shelters with electric hookups that can accommodate up to 100 people each, making it perfect for large gatherings and events. Lake Barkley, the westernmost reservoir on the Cumberland River, is connected by canal to Kentucky Lake, forming one of the greatest freshwater recreation complexes in the country. Between both lakes lies the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, offering extensive hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and off-highway vehicle riding. At Dyers Creek, visitors enjoy excellent boating access via the on-site boat ramp, productive fishing for bass and catfish during warm months, swimming in the lake, and wildlife watching. The area is home to white-tailed deer, raccoons, and bald eagles. Facilities include flush toilets, a playground for children, a volleyball court, and ample paved parking. The shelters are for day use only and operate from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Nearby Lake Barkley State Resort Park offers additional recreational opportunities including miles of hiking trails and horseback riding stables.

From Nashville, take I-24 West to Exit 8 (Clarksville). Take US-79 South for 46 miles to Dyers Creek Recreation Area entrance at 197 Dyer Boat Dock Road, Dover, TN 37058.
