About

Dover is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, overlooking the scenic Lake Barkley on the Cumberland River. The facility features a group picnic shelter with electricity, lighting, and a water spigot, accommodating approximately 35 people and 10 vehicles. The area sits among wooded rolling hills and provides access to Lake Barkley for boating and fishing activities. Wildlife viewing is common, with deer, raccoons, and occasional golden eagles spotted in the area. The location is convenient to Dover, Tennessee and close to Fort Donelson National Battlefield, a significant Civil War site. Lake Barkley is connected by canal to Kentucky Lake, forming one of the country's premier freshwater recreational complexes.
