About
Lena Lake Campground is a heavily used primitive backcountry camping area in Olympic National Forest, situated along the west shore of Lena Lake at 1,800 feet elevation. The 55-acre lake lies within the Hamma Hamma River drainage, surrounded by dense Pacific Northwest forest. Reaching the campground requires hiking 3.2 miles on Lena Lake Trail #810, a popular trail that gains approximately 1,300 feet through stands of old-growth Douglas fir and Western red cedar. Designated campsites are located on both the west and east sides of the lake, with two pit toilets available on the west and north shores. There is no potable water, picnic tables, or trash service at this location. Campers must pack out all waste and practice Leave No Trace principles due to the high visitor use this area receives. From the campground, hikers can continue into The Brothers Wilderness via The Brothers Trail #821, which leads to The Brothers Base Camp beneath the distinctive twin peaks. Wilderness regulations apply within The Brothers Wilderness boundary. The campground operates first-come, first-served with no reservations and no overnight fee, though a day-use fee or Northwest Forest Pass is required at the trailhead.
