About

Brimstone OHV Campground serves as both a camping area and staging area for off-highway vehicle recreation in Tahoe National Forest. Located adjacent to the Sugar Pine OHV trail system on the Foresthill Divide, this no-fee facility was constructed in 2017 to provide OHV enthusiasts with convenient overnight access to the trail network. The campground features eight campsites designed for accessibility. Vault toilets are available on site, but no potable water is provided, so campers must bring an adequate water supply. The area operates first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. No fees are charged for camping. The Sugar Pine OHV trail system offers extensive riding opportunities for motorcycles, ATVs, and other off-highway vehicles. Like other OHV staging areas in the region, Brimstone operates under a wet weather management plan and may close during periods of high soil moisture, particularly in fall and winter months.

Directions

From Foresthill, California, take Foresthill Road east for approximately 17 miles. Turn left onto Sugar Pine Road (Forest Road 10) and continue for about 3 miles to reach the Brimstone OHV Campground.
