Boulder Lake Campground is located within Wakonda State Park, a 1,054-acre natural area three miles south of La Grange in Lewis County, Missouri. The park's six lakes are a major attraction, drawing thousands of migratory waterfowl annually and offering excellent fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. The campground itself features 77 sites nestled among mature cottonwoods and other hardwoods, creating a shaded, scenic setting. The campground offers 65 electric sites (including 50-amp service) and 12 basic sites, with four ADA-accessible sites available. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. A centrally located shower house with laundry facilities operates seasonally from April 15 through October 31, while vault toilets remain available year-round. A dump station serves RV campers. Beyond camping, Wakonda State Park offers hiking trails ranging from half a mile to three miles, kayak rentals, and a swimming beach. The park's diverse habitats support a variety of wildlife, making it particularly appealing to birders during spring and fall migrations.
