About

Bluestone State Park's Tent Area Campground provides an intimate, rustic camping experience for groups looking to get away from RV traffic and hookup-dependent camping. The five designated tent sites offer a quieter, more secluded atmosphere compared to the park's other campgrounds, while still providing access to shared park facilities. The campground is part of Bluestone State Park, established in 1950 along the shores of Bluestone Lake, the state's third-largest body of water. Campers can take advantage of excellent fishing opportunities for bass, bluegill, and catfish, as well as boating access and numerous hiking trails throughout the 2,100-acre park. The nearby Pipestem Resort State Park offers additional amenities including an indoor pool and sauna. The Tent Area operates seasonally from spring through fall, with typical closure around November 1. Due to ongoing Bluestone Dam renovation by the Army Corps of Engineers, visitors should contact the park office before arriving to confirm availability and any access restrictions that may be in effect.
