About

Blackpine Lake Campground is a scenic, forested campground located on the north shore of Blackpine Lake within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. At an elevation of 4,100 feet, the campground provides stunning views of the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness peaks. The facility features three distinct camping sections: two areas above the lake with mountain and lake views, and a small tent-only section near the shoreline. The campground offers excellent water recreation opportunities with a boat launch, two floating docks, and an accessible fishing dock. Non-motorized boating, fishing for westslope cutthroat trout, and swimming are popular activities. An accessible interpretive trail provides scenic views of the Sawtooth Mountains. The campground serves as a base for exploring the surrounding wilderness and trail system. Blackpine Lake Campground operates first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. Sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet in length. Amenities include vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, picnic tables, and fire pits at each site. There are no trash services; visitors must pack out all trash. Access is via Forest Service Road 43 from Twisp River Road, approximately 18 miles from Twisp.

Directions

From Twisp, drive west on Twisp River Road (County Road 9114) for about 10 miles, turn left onto Forest Service Road 43, crossing Buttermilk Bridge across Twisp River. Stay left and follow Forest Road 43 for about 8 miles, then turn left into the campground on the north end of the lake. Total distance is approximately 18 miles from Twisp.
