About

Black Lee Dispersed is a primitive camping area located approximately 15 miles from McCall on Lick Creek Road in the scenic Lick Creek area of the Payette National Forest on the McCall Ranger District. This area, often referred to as the Alps of Idaho, features beautiful glaciated peaks and valleys. The site accommodates approximately three dispersed campsites in close proximity to each other. As a dispersed camping area, Black Lee offers minimal amenities. A vault toilet is provided, but no potable water, trash service, or other facilities are available. Campers must be self-sufficient and pack out all trash. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. The Lick Creek Road provides access to this area, with the route passing Little Payette Lake, Browns Pond, Lake Fork Campground, and Slick Rock before reaching Black Lee. Winter access depends on snow conditions and road maintenance along Lick Creek Road.

Directions

From McCall, take Park Street to Davis Street, then to Lick Creek Road (Forest Road 48). Drive approximately 15 miles, passing Little Payette Lake, Browns Pond, Lake Fork Campground, and Slick Rock.
