Rapid Creek Dispersed is a small, quiet two-unit dispersed camping area located in the Paddy Flat area of the Payette National Forest, southeast of McCall. Situated adjacent to Rapid Creek, this dispersed camping area offers a peaceful, primitive camping experience for those seeking a quieter alternative to developed campgrounds. The area provides basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings, and a vault toilet. With only two units, the camping area maintains a secluded atmosphere while still providing essential facilities. The Paddy Flat area is accessed from Paddy Flat Road, a few miles north of Donnelly, Idaho. This dispersed camping area operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations or fees. Access is seasonal, with the road typically closed during winter months due to snow. The area is suitable for tent camping and smaller RVs that can navigate forest roads. Campers should be prepared for primitive conditions and practice Leave No Trace principles.
Directions
From Donnelly, Idaho, travel north on Highway 55 for a few miles. Turn onto Paddy Flat Road (Forest Road) and head southeast into the Payette National Forest. Rapid Creek Dispersed is located in the Paddy Flat area along this road.
