About

Located south of Bridge Creek Wilderness in the Ochoco National Forest, Allen Creek Horse Camp sits among large ponderosa pine trees along the creek that feeds Allen Creek Reservoir. This equestrian-focused campground features five maintained campsites and several corrals on site, designed specifically to accommodate people camping with horses. The campground has no manure pits, so the Forest Service requests that visitors pack out waste from their horses. There is no water system at the camp, but a stream borders the east side from which horses can be watered. Allen Creek Reservoir is very close to the campground and can be accessed through BLM land just a few miles away. The area offers approximately 20 miles of trails using existing forest roads and routes for exploring. Out of courtesy and safety, the Forest Service asks that visitors without horses consider camping elsewhere, as there are limited equestrian campgrounds available. The campground is free to use and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit.
