Big Springs Group Area sits at 6,300 feet elevation in Island Park, Idaho, 22 miles south of West Yellowstone, Montana. This single group site accommodates up to 40 people in a clearing surrounded by lodgepole pine forest. The campground provides picnic tables, a campfire circle, grill, tent pads, accessible vault toilets, drinking water from a hand pump, and trash collection. A 30-amp electric hookup is available for an additional fee. Big Springs is the headwaters of Henry's Fork, one of the largest springs in the country and considered one of the best fly-fishing streams in the nation for rainbow and brook trout. The Big Springs National Recreation Water Trail begins here and offers a scenic 4.5-mile, three-hour float to Macks Inn. Moose, bald eagles, and Sandhill cranes are frequently spotted along the route. The area lies within the Henry's Fork Caldera, nested inside the larger Island Park Caldera. Nearby attractions include the historic John Sack Cabin, Island Park Reservoir, Henry's Lake, and Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Macks Inn, 4.5 miles west, offers boat rentals, rafting, shuttle service, gas, groceries, showers, and laundry.

From West Yellowstone, Montana, travel 22 miles south on Highway 20 to Macks Inn. Turn east on Big Springs Loop Road and travel 4.5 miles to the campground.
