About

Big Lake State Park Shelters refers to the reservable picnic shelter located in the day-use area of this 407-acre state park in northwest Missouri. The shelter is designed for group gatherings and special events, offering electricity and capacity for approximately 75 guests. This is a day-use facility only and does not accommodate overnight camping. The shelter sits within a park known for its access to Big Lake, the largest remaining oxbow lake in Missouri. The day-use area includes restrooms, a playground, and picnic tables. Visitors can combine their shelter rental with fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing at the adjacent wetlands. For overnight accommodations, the park offers a separate campground with basic, electric, and full-hookup sites, as well as eight premium camper cabins overlooking the lake. The shelter reservation is distinct from these camping options.
