About

Redwood Meadow Campground is located about 50 miles east of Springville, California, in the Tule Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest. Situated at 6,400 feet elevation within the southern portion of Giant Sequoia National Monument, the campground provides access to some of the most impressive giant sequoia groves in California. The area is named for these massive trees, the world's largest by volume, which grow in more than 30 groves on the forest's lower slopes. The campground offers 15 family sites including both traditional camping spots and yurts. Vault toilets and picnic tables are provided, though potable water is not available at this location. A gift shop operates on-site with varying hours. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions including the Trail of a Hundred Giants across the highway, which provides an accessible interpretive walk through the Long Meadow Giant Sequoia Grove. Other nearby points of interest include Belknap Grove and Freeman Grove. Bears frequent the area, so proper food storage in approved bear-resistant containers is required. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The campground typically operates from mid-May through mid-October, weather permitting.
