About
Long Meadow Group Campground occupies a remote, forested setting in the southern section of Giant Sequoia National Monument within Sequoia National Forest. At 6,500 feet elevation, the single group site accommodates up to 36 people and 5 vehicles, making it well-suited for organized groups seeking solitude among ancient trees. The campground lies near the Long Meadow Giant Sequoia Grove and provides access to the Trail of 100 Giants, a popular interpretive trail through massive sequoias. Facilities are minimal: a vault toilet is provided, but there is no potable water, so groups must pack in all drinking water needed for their stay. Campfires are permitted with a valid campfire permit, which can be obtained from ranger stations or online. This is bear country, so proper food storage in bear-resistant containers is essential. The area offers excellent hiking opportunities through several sequoia groves including Belknap Grove and Freeman Grove. The Boole Tree, the largest tree in the National Forest system, is located in the northern portion of the monument, a short drive away. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Travel approximately 6 miles on M107; the campground entrance is on the right. Total distance is 57 miles southeast of Porterville via State Hwy 190 and Western Divide Highway.
