Beaver Creek Campground

Open — Closed for the season. The campground operates April through November, with seasonal shower facilities available during that period.

About

Beaver Creek Valley State Park Campground lies in the driftless region of southeastern Minnesota, where glaciers never reached and limestone bluffs tower above a crystal-clear spring-fed stream. The campground features 42 drive-in sites (16 with electric hookups and 26 non-electric sites) thoughtfully planned for privacy among tall shade trees, plus 6 cart-in sites for a more remote experience. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. A seasonal sanitation building with showers serves the campground. The park's centerpiece is Beaver Creek, fed by Big Spring and home to naturally reproducing brown trout and native brook trout. Eight miles of hiking trails wind through maple-basswood forests, oak savannas, and bluffland prairies that harbor rare species including five-lined skinks, Louisiana waterthrush, and diverse wildflower communities. The park's designation as a Natural State Park reflects its ecological significance as a research site for rare and unusual species. Spring brings spectacular wildflower displays and migratory songbirds, while the murmuring creek provides a soothing backdrop for camping. The park also offers a single heated camper cabin with electricity near the creek, available seasonally.
