About

Baptism Hole Group Camp sits along Pine Log Creek within Pine Log State Forest, Florida's first state forest acquired in 1936. Located approximately 14 miles north of Panama City Beach, this primitive group camping area offers a rustic experience for groups of up to 20 people. The site features fire rings, picnic tables, and grills, but campers must be fully self-sufficient as there is no potable water, electricity, or restroom facilities. The surrounding 7,000-acre forest encompasses diverse natural communities including sandhills, flatwoods, cypress ponds, and titi swamps. Recreational opportunities abound with swimming in Pine Log Creek, fishing from piers, hiking and mountain biking on forest trails, and wildlife viewing. The area is part of the Florida Scenic Trail and the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, making it excellent for bird watching and nature photography.
