About

Baker Creek Campground is one of five developed campgrounds at Great Basin National Park, offering 37 sites in a scenic pinyon-juniper forested landscape with occasional large ponderosa pines. The campground sits at a higher elevation, providing cooler temperatures and spectacular views of Baker Peak and Doso Doyabi. Located just off Baker Creek Road, it serves as an ideal base camp for backcountry exploration with direct access to the Baker Creek Trailhead and Pole Canyon Trail network. The campground operates on a short reservation window, accepting same-day and next-day reservations only through Recreation.gov when open. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings with attached grills. Sites #4 and #28 are ADA accessible, as are the vault toilets. Most sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 50 feet, though the upper loop (sites 9-14) prohibits RVs and trailers. Four sites are walk-to tent sites, and one site is designated RV-only. Campers must bring their own water as no potable water is available at this campground. Firewood collection is permitted for dead wood on the ground only; standing trees or attached wood cannot be collected, and bristlecone pine wood is prohibited. The campground provides convenient access to Lehman Caves Visitor Center, located just a few miles away, where guided cave tours can be reserved.

Directions

From US Highway 6 & 50, turn south on Nevada State Highway 487 and travel 5 miles to Baker. In Baker turn west on Highway 488 and travel 5 miles to the park. Once in the park, head towards the Lehman Caves Visitor Center for 0.5 miles and make a left onto Baker Creek Road. Follow Baker Creek Road for 3 miles to reach the campground.
