About

Bailey Canyon Campground is a pristine, intimate campground located along the eastern shore of Ruth Lake in the Six Rivers National Forest. At 2,700 feet elevation, the campground offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by mixed conifer forest with a beautiful understory. Four campsites sit directly along the waterfront, while other sites are nestled in the shade of mature oaks, ponderosa pine, and Douglas fir trees. Ruth Lake is a 1,200-acre reservoir that provides excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming, and boating. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Bailey Canyon Campground Trail, which connects to Fir Cove Campground and offers scenic hiking opportunities. The area was not affected by the 2020 August Complex fire and remains in pristine condition. This is a rustic campground with basic amenities operating on a first-come, first-served basis only. No reservations are accepted. The maximum trailer length is 22 feet, and there is a 14-day stay limit. Pets are permitted on leash. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through early September and is closed during winter months.
