Lake Catherine State Park Campground

Open

Open year-round. Bathhouses are available year-round; restrooms are open March through November. Marina operates seasonally from mid-March through October with reduced hours outside the summer peak.

About

Lake Catherine State Park Campground is located on the 1,940-acre Lake Catherine, formed by a dam on the Ouachita River in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains. The park sits just outside Hot Springs, making it a convenient basecamp for exploring Hot Springs National Park and the surrounding area. The campground features 70 sites divided into Camp A, B, and C areas. Class AAA sites (47 total) offer full hookups including water, 50-amp electric, and sewer connections. Class B sites (23 total) provide water and 30-amp electric hookups. Many campsites sit directly on the lakeshore, offering scenic waterfront camping. Six primitive tent sites and a Rent-A-Yurt are also available for those seeking a more rustic experience. Park amenities include bathhouses with hot showers open year-round, modern restrooms (March through November), and a dump station. A free swimming beach with no lifeguard provides lake access, while the marina offers boat rentals seasonally. Hiking trails wind through the forested hills, and playgrounds keep kids entertained. Pets are welcome in all campsites with a $10 fee per dog (maximum two dogs), and must remain leashed.
