Open — Open year-round with reservations available. Bathhouses are open year-round, with restrooms operating from March through November. The visitor center is open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

About

Lake Catherine State Park Campground sits along the southern shore of Lake Catherine, one of five lakes in the scenic Ouachita Mountain region, just eight miles southeast of Hot Springs. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, the park features historic native stone and wood structures and 2,180 acres of natural beauty. The campground offers 70 developed campsites divided into three loops, with 47 Class AAA sites providing water, 50-amp electric, and sewer hookups, plus 23 Class B sites with water and 30-amp electric. Six primitive tent sites and one Rent-A-Yurt provide additional camping options. Many campsites are positioned directly on the lakeshore, offering easy access for fishing and boating. The campground accommodates RVs up to 45-60 feet and features modern amenities including two barrier-free bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers, a dump station, picnic tables, fire rings, and water spigots throughout. The park operates a full-service marina during summer months offering boat rentals, fuel, and supplies. Additional facilities include a public boat launch, pavilions, playgrounds, and a visitor center open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Four well-marked trails provide hiking opportunities, including the Falls Branch Trail leading to a waterfall and three National Recreation Trails. Park interpreters offer guided hikes, lake tours, and programs year-round, while guided horseback rides are available seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
