About

Lower Lake Recreation Area is a day-use facility located at DeGray Lake's regulating dam in Clark County, Arkansas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this area is designed for day visitors seeking fishing, boating, and outdoor recreation rather than traditional overnight camping. The main reservable amenity is the Lower Lake Pavilion, an electric group shelter that accommodates up to 50 people with water hookup, fire ring, grills, and picnic tables. Restrooms are within walking distance. The recreation area features an 18-hole disc golf course, the 1-mile Voss Fitness Trail with 19 workout stations, and the 1.7-mile DeGray Lake Sunset Trail, a paved ADA-accessible loop. A boat ramp provides access to the Caddo River and the 400-acre pool above the dam, where fishing in the continuous dam outflow is a popular activity. Additional amenities include a playground, sand volleyball court, and open playing fields. DeGray Lake is one of the region's five Diamond Lakes, known for crystal-clear waters spanning 13,500 surface acres. Nearby attractions include DeGray Lake Resort State Park, the Ouachita National Forest, and Hot Springs National Park.
