About
Devils Den State Park occupies a rugged sandstone valley in the Ozark Mountains, named for the network of caves and crevices carved into the bluffs. The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed many of the park's facilities during the 1930s, including distinctive native-stone cabins, shelters, and trails that earned the park National Historic District status.
The campground is divided into several loops offering varied experiences. Class AAA sites provide full hookups with water, 50-amp electric, and sewer connections, suitable for RVs up to 55 feet. Class D sites offer a more primitive tent camping experience without hookups. Bike-in sites cater to cyclists on the nearby trail systems. The separate horse camp features 24 sites with hookups, a dedicated bathhouse, and direct access to equestrian trails. All camping loops have access to modern bathhouses with flush toilets and showers.
Beyond camping, the park offers over 20 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking on the Fossil Flats Trail system, and a seasonal swimming pool open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The park store and cafe operate seasonally, and the visitor center is open daily. Note that some caves, including Farmer's Cave and Big Ear Cave, are permanently closed to protect bat populations.
