About
Chinquapin Hollow is a designated group tent camping area at Lake Wedington Recreation Area in the Boston Mountain Ranger District of the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest. Situated in the scenic Ozark Plateau of northwest Arkansas, the campground provides a peaceful retreat for organized groups of 7 to 50 people. The site features a fire ring with seating logs, water hookup, and natural shade, though no electrical hookups are available. Lake Wedington's 102-acre lake offers excellent recreational opportunities including fishing, non-motorized boating and kayaking, and swimming at the designated beach. Motors are limited to 10 horsepower or less. The surrounding forest provides hiking and mountain biking on trails including the Lakeshore Hiking Trail that circles much of the lake and the 16-mile North Twin Trail. The group campsite requires advance reservations and has specific rules including no pets (except qualified service animals) and a locked gate policy after posted closing times. Groups receive the lock combination at check-in.
