Chinquapin Hollow Group Camp is situated within the Lake Wedington Recreation Area, a historic site built in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located 13 miles west of Fayetteville on Arkansas Highway 16, the group campsite provides tent-only camping for groups of 7-50 people with space for up to 8 vehicles on a gravel driveway. The site includes a water hookup, fire pit with seating logs, picnic tables, and shade. The surrounding Lake Wedington Recreation Area features a 102-acre lake with swimming beach, wheelchair-accessible fishing pier, boat launch (10 hp motor limit), volleyball courts, horseshoes, and a bathhouse with flush toilets. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the Lakeshore Hiking Trail and the 7-mile North Twin Hiking and Mountain Biking Trail. Developed by the Soil Conservation Service and transferred to the USDA Forest Service in 1954, Lake Wedington has been carefully restored by the Friends of Lake Wedington volunteer group. The recreation area offers a peaceful setting in the Boston Mountain Ranger District of the Ozark National Forest, with the lake and its historic cabins providing a glimpse into the region's conservation history.

From Fayetteville, take Arkansas Highway 16 west for 13 miles. The recreation area is negotiable by camping trailer.
