Forest Order No. 05-01-25-13, Camping Equipment Prohibition
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. This Order is effective from August 15, 2025, through August 1, 2027.

About
Table Mountain Campground provides a scenic mountain retreat in the Angeles National Forest, just northwest of the Los Angeles metro area. Situated at 7,000 feet elevation in the San Gabriel Mountains, the campground spans a hilly landscape with oak and pine forests interspersed with two large meadows offering beautiful mountain views. Summer temperatures average in the low 80s with cool nights, making it an ideal escape from the heat of Southern California. The campground features over 115 campsites ranging from level meadow locations to shaded hillside sites. All sites include paved spurs and fire pits, with vault toilets and water spigots distributed throughout. The Table Mountain Nature Trail runs through the campground, providing opportunities to spot birds, squirrels, deer, and the rare California condor. The Pacific Crest Trail is easily accessible, offering hikers the chance to explore this iconic trail that extends from Mexico to Canada. The Blue Ridge Trail provides additional hiking opportunities with stunning vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges. The location offers easy access to the Angeles Crest Scenic Byway (State Route 2), which winds through diverse landscapes including oak thickets, chaparral, high desert terrain, and pine forests along the highest ridges of the San Gabriel Mountains. The nearby ski resort town of Wrightwood, just 3.6 miles away, provides restaurants and services. The campground is managed by Mountain High Resort concessionaire and reservations are available through Recreation.gov. Bear-proof food storage is required as bears are active in the area.
Directions
From Wrightwood, take State Route 2 west for 3.6 miles to Table Mountain Road and turn right. Continue on Table Mountain Road for 0.7 miles; the campground entrance will be on the left.
