About
Blue Ridge Campground is a small, primitive camping area located in the Angeles National Forest within the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. With just 8 designated campsites, it offers a quiet backcountry experience at the convergence of the Pacific Crest Trail and Blue Ridge Trail. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water available; campers must bring all water needed for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and extinguishing campfires. The campground operates year-round, but access conditions change seasonally. From approximately mid-November through mid-May, Blue Ridge Road closes due to snow, making the campground a 3-mile hike-in destination from the Inspiration Point trailhead on the Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2). When the road is open, small RVs up to 20 feet can access the campground, though no hookups are available. The area is managed by Mountain High as a concessionaire for the Forest Service. The location makes this campground popular with PCT thru-hikers and day hikers exploring the Blue Ridge Trail. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on leash. An Adventure Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required for vehicle parking; overnight camping is $5 per night.
Directions
From Wrightwood, take the Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2) approximately 5 miles west to the Inspiration Point trailhead. From Inspiration Point, take Blue Ridge Road (Forest Road 3N06) for 3 miles to the campground. During winter road closures, hike the Blue Ridge Trail 3 miles from Inspiration Point.
