About

Guffy Campground sits at 8,300 feet elevation in the San Gabriel Mountains of Angeles National Forest, offering a remote camping experience for those seeking solitude and high-country terrain. The campground features 6 primitive campsites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, along with vault toilets. No potable water is available, so campers must bring sufficient supplies for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and extinguishing campfires. Access to Guffy is via Blue Ridge Road, located 6 miles from Inspiration Point at the intersection with Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2) and 3 miles past Blue Ridge Campground. The road is rough dirt, and four-wheel drive is required after the first 5 miles. During winter months from mid-November through late April or early May, Blue Ridge Road closes and the campground becomes hike-in only. The campground provides direct access to the Pacific Crest Trail, making it popular with thru-hikers and day hikers exploring the Blue Ridge area. A California Campfire Permit is required, and fire restrictions may be in effect during periods of elevated fire danger. Dogs are allowed but must remain leashed.

Directions

Located on Blue Ridge Road, 6 miles from the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2). The intersection is 1.5 miles west of Big Pines. The road into the campground is rough dirt; four-wheel drive is required after the first 5 miles.
